It is no longer just a “tool” to help us and our teams be more productive; it is a competitive advantage.

An Application Programming Interface (API) is a set of defined rules that enables 2 different software systems to communicate with each other. AI APIs provide functionality for text and image generation, chatbot building, data analysis, and more. By incorporating such an API into a website or application, an entrepreneur can instantly give it a boost. Rather than investing in the time-consuming, resource-intensive process of training an AI model from scratch, an API can simplify the process and deliver results faster.

Rather than simply offering ‘artificial intelligence’, many modern AI providers offer APIs that can be integrated into their websites. As entrepreneurs prepare to launch the next wave of AI-powered innovations, it is imperative that we heed considerations of data privacy, security, and transparency when deploying these systems. Consumers expect to know when they are speaking with a machine and for their most sensitive information to remain just that—sensitive. However, even as AI becomes more prevalent, the technology must augment, not replace, the customer experience.
